Limping home across the Bay on only one
Day’s plans dashed but all hands dry and safe
Time slows to a chugging crawl and starts to chafe

Sleek yachts and daylight race apace
Downwind to the finish borne
Sunset’s pastel reverie shattered
By gay neon sails and shouts that warn
